Past Event Demographics

At the 2014 event in Korea, 68% of participants were from Asia; 10% from North America; 9% from Europe; 2% from the Middle East; 2% from South America; and 1% from Africa. This is typical from events held in Asia.

From experience with international conferences held in Canada, we expect 20-25% attendees from Canada, 15-20% from the United States, 15-20% from Europe 15-20% from Asia/Oceania, and 5-10% from Central/South America & Caribbean.

Level sponsors have first choice in selecting booth location, followed by exhibitors on a “first-paid, first-served” basis. No exhibitor may sub-let or share with another exhibitor.

Please note: As per the guidelines of the University of Toronto's Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development, the Accrediting organization for IAFS 2017, gift items cannot be distributed. This includes small items bearing the exhibitor’s name and/or logo. Only items which are educational in nature are allowed.

Not-for-Profit Tabletop Displays

Exhibitors who are defined as not-for-profit organizations are eligible to receive a reduced exhibit price of CAD 500 (CAD 750 after February 28, 2017) for a maximum of one (1) tabletop display. Assignment of space will be confined to a specific area on the floorplan. Not-for-profit exhibitors do not have the option to choose space in other locations on the exhibit floor at this reduced rate. Additional booths will be charged at the regular booth rate.

As the sponsor of an Industry Seminar, you will:

  • Have a Meeting Room at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. You are permitted to hold the meeting at another property; however, the same fee applies and meeting space and AV package will not be available through the Conference Secretariat, but will be at your own expense
  • Receive a basic AV package with LCD projector and screen, one microphone at the podium, audience microphones, and a head table for four or six with microphones
  • Be listed on the Conference website and in the Onsite Program, with seminar description and hyperlink to company’s own event page (if desired)
  • Have the opportunity to include a complimentary delegate bag insert promoting your Seminar (supplied by Sponsor; insert to be approved by Organizing Committee)
  • Have your seminar listed in a summary e-blast sent to all registered delegates prior to the Conference (email sent through Conference Secretariat)

Important Information:

  • Prices above do not include food and beverage; food and beverage can be ordered through the Conference Secretariat
  • Only basic AV is included. Additional AV equipment can be ordered from the official AV supplier via the Conference Secretariat

In order to enhance the scientific program, the Sponsor must:

  • Provide the symposium program as well as presentation slides to the Conference Secretariat and Organizing Committee for approval
  • Cover all travel and a minimum of 2 nights accommodation expenses for their faculty, regardless if they are also invited to participate in the official Conference program
  • Register and cover registration fees for their faculty if they have not been invited to participate in the official Conference program

While CME accreditation is not mandatory for Industry-Supported Seminars, the information discussed must be presented in an objective, balanced and scientifically rigorous manner. The content and format of the symposium or its related materials must promote improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary business interest or a commercial interest. Titles must be indicative of the program topics.

Travel Assistance Fund Contribution CAD 5,000
Some nations do not have a robust system of forensic science and medicine to uphold human rights and justice. IAFS 2017 wants to help increase forensic capacity in lower-income countries by supporting attendance of their promising forensic scientists and doctors who otherwise could not afford to travel. By contributing to the Travel Assistance Fund, you will help these delegates attend IAFS 2017 and return with new knowledge and contacts that will make a difference in their home countries.
As a contributor to the Travel Assistance Fund, you will:

  • Be acknowledged at the Opening Ceremony
  • Be acknowledged as a contributor to the Travel Assistance Fund with your logo in the Onsite Program and onsite signage
 Delegate Lounge (Exclusive) SOLD
A delegate lounge will be located in the Exhibit Hall to provide delegates with a comfortable seating area to conduct meetings, check emails or simply to study the Conference program.

Abstracts accepted for poster presentations will be displayed on poster boards in the Exhibit Hall every day. Presenters will be present twice daily during both refreshment breaks to answer questions and discuss their research with delegates.
Refreshment breaks will be offered in the Poster Area to generate an atmosphere conducive to beneficial networking.
As the sponsor of one of the Poster Sessions, you will:

The Charging Lounge will allow attendees to power up their mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices for free. This station will be in high demand and can be placed in the Exhibit Hall near your booth.

Hotel Accommodation: Book Official!

The Conference Secretariat (International Conference Services, Ltd.) is the official housing bureau for the IAFS 2017 Meeting and will coordinate housing for the Conference. Discounted room rates have been negotiated for delegates and groups. All sponsors and exhibitors are asked to support the Conference by booking accommodations via the official Housing Bureau. Priority selection of hotel rooms will be offered to sponsors.

The Conference Secretariat retains the right to downgrade sponsorship levels if sponsors do not book through the official Housing Bureau. Full rates are available on the website.
